is almost here!

Earn Double "C" Points - Qualify for Charity Medal Finals - Fun Classes: Crop Racing, Horseless High Jump, and the perennial favorite, Ride A Buck!

We have a New Trainer!

Please welcome Andrea Wrzosek.
Andrea will be training out of Delray and Pompano Beaches.
We have a satellite center at Sand & Spurs in Pompano Beach.

WELCOME

We have new faces around the barn! Please welcome Demi Robson, Kara Speck, Danielle Marando with Winni and Morgan Williams. If you see a new face remember to introduce yourself and welcome them to the farm!

Welcome Home!

Elisabeth Hayes and Chester
Deven Zenker and Tiger

These ladies have been away at college and are spending a little of their summer with us. Elisabeth and Chester showed in ESP's Spring Finale and took home ribbons in the Low Jr/Adult Jumpers! She will show in the up coming ESP's "A" Show and then leave us for the rest of the summer for her home in northern Florida. Deven who just arrived will be taking summer courses at FAU to fill her school requirement and to be able to show down here. Welcome back ladies, no matter how long you stay, we love having you with us.

Horseman's May Show!

Congratulations to Lee Barnes & Quito II,
Champion of the Low Child/Adult Jumper Division.
Lee is learning a new life skill; slicing and dicing from the master, Quito.
The team of Quito and Lee have more combined life experiences then our other riders and reminded the others to pay attention and they might be able to learn a thing or two.

Congratulations to Molly Allen & Leap Frog,
Reserve Champion of the Low Child/Adult Jumper Division.
Leap Frog was ecstatic to be back in the show ring, proving he still has the power and skills to rattle the competition.

Well, they were not the only shining stars. Everyone shone brightly, we even have a new young star making her show debut, Peyton Utset riding Mikasa in the Walk Trot Division. They earned Reserve Champion. Also a new talent in our barn, is Nicole Hoularies and she won the Medal aboard Bentley! Welcome and fantastic job!

Our young adults were no slackers, Lindsey Boutote rode Brody to be the Champion in the Adult Hunters and our international rider, Krystal, was very successful in the jumpers earned 2nd Place in the Adult Medal.

New comers Demi Robson was Reserve Champion and Morgan Williams riding "Color my World" also earned Reserve Champion honors in the Hunters and Champion in the Equitation.

Our young teens, Taylor Ellis and Ariana Mato held up their end of the show as well. Taylor aboard her beloved Hershey earned Reserve Champion in the 2'6" Children's Hunters and Ariana placed 3rd in the Medal riding Amazing Grace and then tried her hand in the jumpers riding Catnap, despite the very hot weather and a bit of heat stroke.

And then there was Alex Narzisi... She and her mount, Marker, were unbeatable. They came, they saw, they conquered. Hunters and Equitation, it was simple domination and it earned them their Championships. Alex & Marker rocked the house...

Congratulations to everyone. You all were stand outs!

As always, if there are any mistakes or omissions, it is unintentional and please let us know so we may provide the correct information.

ESP's Spring Finale

Not only did Vinissa do her first Grand Prix, and Lisa and Deirdre get top honors, so did Mary Kate Hayes, she placed first in Low Children's Jumper, she also received a 2nd place nod for SFHJA Jr Medal and the Low Children's Jumper Classic. Over all she earned Reserve Champion in Low Children's Jumpers. Big sister Elisabeth aboard Top Secret, looked on proudly to see Mary kate follow in her foort steps. Elisabeth earned good ribbons in the Low AO/Jr Jumper classes. Not bad for not showing or jumping in several months!

Kristi Doyle and Good Company were in deed good company with several ribbons and a first for A/O Under Saddle. Our other yong adult, Andy Dracites riding Laird, was Reserve Champion in the Low Adult Jumpers.

As for the teen set, Chantal Gaston received very nice ribbons for having just moved up to the 3' divisions. Kara Speck was named Spring Circuit Champion in Children's Horse and Marielle Golden was Champion in the 12 - 14 Equitation and earned a 2nd in the M&S Hunter Classic.
Danielle Marando was Reserve Champion in the 12-14 Equitation.

Our pony rider, Hayley Iannotti, keeps bringing the goods home, top ribbons in every single one of her classes! She earned Reserved Champion in Green Pony Med/Sm.

And Anders Keitz still has her game on, ribboning and earning points towards finals in all of the big eq. classes with Pokey, they qualified for Maclay Regional's. On Bali, they rode into the ribbons and money in every Low AO/Jr Jumper class, finishing 4th in the Low Jr Jumper Stakes.

Lastly, we want to wish Lana a get well soon or should we say heal quickly. While schooling on Friday before the show, Lana and Hula Girl parted ways. Lana broke her fall with her wrist and garnered a hair line fracture. Tough cookie as she is, we understand Lana will be out riding soon in her soft cast. Hula Girl, due to the mishap, was ridden by Vinissa in the add back jumper and placed 2 out of 11, nicely done.

Carriage Hill Farm is Heading North!

Get ready, Get set, Get packed!

Our first trip is to Tennessee, leaving at the end of June and returning around the 14th of July. Second road trip is our annual trek to Venice Beach, FL, the home of Fox Lea's Summer Camp Series. We leave on July 16th or 17th and will return home July 27th. In August Jane will be taking a handful to Kentucky Horse Park, if you are interested in this trip, please let her know immediately. This trip will coincide with Pony Finals. There are regular shows prior and immediately following the Finals. Tricia, Vinissa and Jane have pricing as well as lodging information. Lodging for Venice sells out early so make sure to get your name on the list if you want a room. The Hampton Inn is one of our favorites and the newly remodeled Holiday Inn allows pets and is a very nice alternative.

So have your bags ready, your tack clean and your horses healthy and happy, it's going to be a fun summer!

For the Good of the Horse

Reminders:
It's time to take home your horse's blankets!

The warmer weather is here. While you wait your turn in a lesson keep your horse walking, this helps regulate their body temperature.
Make sure to cool your horse out completely after your ride. A good hosing will help their body temperature return to normal. Healthy snacks like fresh carrots have lots of water in them. Keep your horses hydrated. Remember that tip for yourself, too. Pedi pops are popsicle with electrolytes in them, also drink Smart Water or G2 sport drinks, they have the much needed electrolytes.

Don't forget to towel dry your horse's legs before putting him away, if you don't, he'll get skin fungus and it is very uncomfortable!

It is always a good habit to pick your horses hooves before and after every ride but
as the rainy season approaches it is essential to do so. Keep an eye and nose out for Thrush. With our muddy paddocks and damp air thrush is very common and can create a lot of problems.

A good curry will loosen the sand and remove loose hair from your horses coat and help promote healthy skin and a clean rag to polish their coat will leave it shiny.

If your horse's tail is getting thinner, keep it cleaner! The cleaner and more conditioned the tail is the easier for the shavings to fall out and for your comb to go through it or better yet, hand pick the clean tail, this will all but eliminate hair fallout.

Photo Coming Soon!
Arlington Farm's John Beebe is a master jump builder!

John has been busy in his work shop building new jumps for Sunshine Meadows. Many of the jumps are like the ones at WEF so our horses will be welled schooled for the big shows thanks to him.

If you see him covered in paint you will know a new jump is in the works.
Please, remember to thank him, they are his gifts to all of us.
